Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith builds upon our understanding of Christian doctrine and help us put our faith into action. Each statement invokes thought and has scripture references for further study. The Statement of Faith is the first stop in explaining our beliefs to those who are unfamiliar with them.

The Holy Scriptures

We Believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, and accept the same as the only infallible guide and rule of our faith and practice, confirmed by the Church still united at the council of Carthage, in 397 A.D.

The Eternal Godhead

We Believe there is but one living and true God, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Ghost; distinguishable, but indivisible and of the same essence. To the Father is credited the work of Creation, to the Son, the work of Redemption, to the Holy Spirit, the work of Sanctification.

Regarding Sin

We Believe in the creation, tests and fall of man as recorded in Genesis and in his inability to attain divine righteousness.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of men, conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, gave Himself to be crucified for our redemption and rose from the dead on the third day. He ascended bodily into heaven and is our advocate with the Father and there sitteth until He returns to judge the world in righteousness.

The Holy Spirit

We Believe that the Holy Spirit proceeding from the Father through the Son, is one substance, very and eternal God.

Salvation

We Believe that Jesus Christ was foreordained from the foundation of the world to be the lamb of God, and by shedding of His blood, on the cross made provision for salvation for all men; that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations; that there is none other name under heaven, given among men whereby we must be saved.

Water Baptism

We Believe in the Sacrament of water baptism by immersion in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ, the eternal Godhead, in order to fulfill the command of Christ.

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We Believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance, and is subsequent to Salvation.

Gifts of the Spirit

We Believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12:1-14, and as manifested in the early Church.

Sanctification

We Believe that sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. (Rom. 12:1,2; I Thess. 5.23; Heb. 13:12) The Scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see the LORD.

The Holy Eucharist

We Believe in the Sacrament of Holy Communion as fulfilling the command of Jesus Christ in John 6:53-58, “Except you eat of the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood you have no life in you. Whosoever eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life; and I will raise Him up at the last day,” and as a declaration of the New Covenant established at the last supper in Matthew 26:26-28 and Mark 14:22.

Divine Healing

We Believe in the healing of the body by divine power, or divine healing in its’ varied aspects as practiced in the early church.

The Resurrection

We Believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and In His resurrection He became the first fruits of the resurrection of the righteous.

The Eternal Kingdom

We Believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ wherein the dead shall be raised, the nations shall be judged, the eternal kingdom established.

Hell

We Believe in the reality and personality of Satan and the eternal judgment of Satan and his angels, along with all who have not believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

The Local Church

We Believe that every born again child of God should identify himself with a local Bible believing, Spirit-filled church and should labour diligently and contribute toward the spreading of the Gospel. We believe that all tithes should be given unto the storehouse of the LORD, which is the local church.

Church Government

We Believe that the Biblical form of Church government is theocratic, apostolic and episcopal, whereby the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are perfecting the saints for the work of ministry and for the edifying of the body of Christ. We Believe that the primary offices of church government are found in Bishops, Elders and Deacons.

The Great Commission

We Believe it is the responsibility of every born again believer to put forth the utmost effort and dedication in fulfilling the great commission and the discipling of the nations.

Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

— Philippians 4:8
